An interactive companion to the SFMOMA’s gallery shows

The Anderson Collection, in a dynamic interface.

The San Francisco Museum of Modern Art wanted to do something really special to showcase their display of the Anderson Collection, the largest collection of modern art in private hands.

Working with Idea Integration, we built the front end templates that allowed Museum staff to built interactive animated stories based on the art in their collection. The system was built in 2000 and is still being used by the Museum to build interactive kiosks related to different gallery shows.

Each artist’s work was presented in a timeline.

Zoom tools allowed for a closer look.

Each template allowed for multiple points of investigation.

Formal Analysis: pointing out interesting details.

Interviews with artists and critics—so much good stuff!
